Windriver Brewing

The challenge of this design is to create a unique microbrewery concept in an extremely competitive market. Windriver brewing is a new microbrewery located in Squamish (Skwxuwú7mesh) BC. The brewery is nestled in a deep mountain valley by the waters of the Howe Sound.

Squamish means “the birthplace of winds”, so the brewery uses windpower as clean energy for their brewing. Windriver brewing also uses the best of British Columbia’s edible plants to flavor delicious beer brewed with traditional European techniques. The brewery needs to carve a niche for itself in the stiffly competitive Sea to Sky corridor.

Included in the brewery brand package: Three of the first beer products in cans & bottles, two full-page ads for print and digital media, Instagram Ads, business cards and additional merchandise.

All labels are printed on clear plastic.

Especially in the glass bottles the unique design of the labels stands out from the competition.

The brewery's Instagram account posts updates of new products as they are ready for the consumer.

Background images portray well-known views from the Howe Sound.

To differentiate in the stiffly competitive local market, the brewery's packaging visuals are simple, airy and based on just 2-3 colors.

Building a strong identity for brand differentiation is the focal point of this proposal and it has been achieved with both a unique visual approach to the labels as well as the color scheme and imagery that draws heavily from the local environment.

This design incorporates work done on Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. Hand-drawn illustrators were made with Wacom Intuos Pro Paper Edition.
